What's Included in Each Coaching Program

Each program includes 12 weeks of coaching and content, spread over more than 12 weeks to allow for "pause" weeks while Anna is leading live events or traveling. See calendar below. Coaching meetings are recorded and accessible to actively enrolled participants who had to miss meetings while enrolled.

Enrollment is "Evergreen." You can begin the program any time, complete the onboarding lessons and join in the next coaching meeting and whatever topic is covered that day.

Requirements for Enrollment

  • You are seeking to heal your own trauma symptoms (not merely learning for the sake of loved ones or clients).
  • You understand this program is for educational purposes, and is not a substitute for psychotherapy or medical advice of any kind.
  • You are familiar with Anna's content, principles and teaching style - based on experience, common sense strategies and friendly support.
  • In accord with Anna's approach to healing, you are comfortable "containing" your focus on the past, other people, and what happened to you -- and shifting your focus onto yourself, your symptoms and your actions in present time.
  • You are able to participate in group settings and coaching with kindness and respect for Anna, her team and the other participants -- even when your emotions run high or you feel triggered.
  • You are willing to refrain from any discussion of politics, and from giving direct advice to others in terms of healing modalities, books, religion, etc.
  • Though you have trauma symptoms, your life and emotional state are relatively stable -- you're not in crisis, and you're able to give your focus to the healing process.
  • You are financially able to pay for your enrollment without causing financial difficulty to yourself or your dependents (we have lower priced and free options here).
  • If you are enrolling in the dating program, you are familiar and comfortable with Anna's recommendations to date slowly, with self-respect and with an aim toward building a lasting, monogamous, partnership or marriage. If you're not currently in a relationship, you are willing to wait until completion of the your program before initiating any new relationships.

Anna Runkle is an author, coach and educator who recovered from her own Childhood PTSD and today leads a movement to help people to heal trauma symptoms and change their lives -- whether or not they have access to professional help.

Meet Anna's Coaching Team

While Anna leads the weekly group coaching meetings, and offers you one 45-minute 1-on-1 coaching session, the coaching team leads weekly small-group check-in meetings, as well as the two 45-minute 1-on-1 coaching sessions.

Cara Alexander

Cara  has served for over a decade as a counselor, coach in her professional life, as well as a 12-step mentor to dozens of women. A long-time participant in Crappy Childhood Fairy programs, Cara serves as the Members' Community Manager and is now in her second year leading has group coaching programs and providing one-on-one coaching. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and young-adult children.

Jenny Geddes

Based in the UK, Jenny has led coaching programs and provided one-on-one coaching at Crappy Childhood Fairy since 2020. Before becoming a coach, Jenny held management positions in the film, publishing and design. Like Anna, she has recovered from the symptoms of Childhood PTSD and understands how hard it can be to navigate life and the world before healing. She is committed to helping fellow survivors find freedom.


  • We'll be covering 12 topics, in rotation, at the group coaching meetings led by Anna.
  • Weekly videos and worksheets are drawn from my extensive library of works, and some may be familiar to you from YouTube or courses. This homework packets are made available several days before each coaching meeting so you can prepare for the meeting and apply the lessons to your life.
  • In group coaching Anna will teach at more depth via Q&A with participants.
  • You can debrief between coaching meetings in small-group check-in meetings (led by coaching team) (and supported by videos, worksheets delivered before meetings, and small-group check-ins between meetings.
  • You'll be able to discuss the lessons and how you've applied them with your fellow participants in the private group chat.
  • You can join this program any time, and begin your 12-week program with the topic presented when you join. The cycle of 12 topics repeats; it's not necessary to take them in a specific order.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if these programs are for me?

You are strongly encouraged to read through all the information on this (very long) page! If you do apply, you'll be asked to describe a little about yourself, and what you hope to gain out of the program. This answer tells us something about your needs and whether the program fits. If we see a fit, we'll reach out to schedule an interview where you'll have a chance to ask all your questions and make a decision about whether to enroll.

What happens in Anna's weekly Coaching meetings?

We'll discuss the homework that was delivered the week before the meeting, and Anna will take questions from those who raise their hands, and provide mini-coaching that is intended to be helpful for everyone listening. These groups are expected to gradually grow large. Only some people will have the opportunity to raise their hands. We'll do our best to make sure each participant has a turn from time to time to ask a question and receive mini-coaching. Each enrollee also receives a 45-minute one-on-one meeting with Anna, that can be scheduled any time during your enrollment.

What happens in the small-group check-in meetings between Anna's group coaching meetings?

The coaching team moderates small-group check-in meetings for up to (roughly) eight participants at a time. At first, these groups will include people from both the Trauma Symptoms (CPTSD) group and the Dating group. We will gradually add more of these groups, and separate by program as enrollment grows. This is an opportunity to find and stay with a "home group" with other participants, share your progress and gain support from week to week.

How much do I have to participate?

We encourage you to attend all weekly coaching meetings (with Anna) and check-in meetings (with the coaching team). We also encourage you to complete your homework each week, to book your three 1-on-1 sessions (one with Anna, two with the team) and to participate in the private chat group where other members of your group will join you in discussing the lessons and supporting one another. Community is an important part of the program, and to the success of your healing! Participating in CCF Membership is optional; some people wait until their coaching program is complete before regularly participating in the courses, Zoom calls and Facebook group included with the year of membership included in your coaching tuition.

What happens if I miss a call?

Coaching calls from each group (CPTSD and Dating) are recorded and available to all enrollees active in that group during their enrollment and for two weeks after their program is completed.

What's the difference between the coaching programs and the membership program?

These coaching programs are the deepest and most extensive programs we offer at Crappy Childhood Fairy. The price and scope are considerably higher than the annual (or monthly) membership, which is included as a perk of the coaching program. Membership includes access to all Anna's courses, a secret Facebook group of about 600+ participants, and twice-monthly LARGE group coaching calls for members. Anna also offers twice-monthly Daily Practice calls for anyone enrolled in any of her courses or programs. Peer-led Daily Practice calls are offered several times each day; a schedule may be found in the Members' Facebook group.

Does my location matter?

No. As long as the time of live calls work for you (in your time zone) and you have an internet connection that supports the use of Zoom, viewing videos and downloading PDFs, your location doesn't matter.

How does "evergreen" enrollment work?

Though the weekly group coaching modules are numbered 1-12, you may begin your enrollment at any time -- there's no need for everyone to start at the same time. The modules each have a topic, and they are "free-standing," -- meaning you can begin with any module (and complete all 12) and get the same benefit as if you started with the first module. For example, if you join during module 4 (May 14 coaching date), your enrollment will be active through weeks 4-12, AND (when the module cycle begins again the following week) modules 1-3

What happens during weeks when Anna isn't leading coaching groups?

Anna has travel, live events and, holidays scheduled for herself on some Saturdays, and those days are "greyed out" on the topic calendar above. On those weeks, there will be no coaching. The topics and modules will resume when she returns. This means a 12-week program takes longer than 12 weeks. When you enroll, we'll go over the schedule with you and when you should plan to be in coaching calls and when you will have completed the program.

When can I get started?

If your application and interview are complete and we invite you to enroll, you can get started immediately. The first day of coaching is April 16, 2022

Why is the Dating Program for Women Only?

We recognize and honor the many men who come to Crappy Childhood Fairy videos and programs to heal relationship wounds and change this part of their lives. The vast majority of students are female, and we believe a female-only group is, in some ways, the most comfortable for women to discuss this very personal part of their lives. Men are welcome to apply to the Trauma Symptoms (CPTSD) group. If you would like to add your name to an "Interested" list for a Men's Dating group, please click here.

Should I go (or keep going) to therapy?

This program can support you whether or not you are in therapy or receiving professional help. Some people find it helpful to focus on one approach at a time, and postpone therapy for some time, with an aim to resume (if desired) after the coaching program is complete. This program is not a substitute for professional help. We are not therapists or doctors. If you are in a crisis, in danger of harming yourself or others, or going through mental health challenges at this time, we think that professional help (and not this coaching program) are the best way forward.

Does my previous education or treatment experience matter?

This is a unique approach to healing, so experience being treated with (or offering treatment in) other modalities may not be relevant. Experience in the Crappy Childhood Fairy Daily Practice technique, coures, and membership ARE relevant (though not required) and will allow you to more readily absorb and use the principles taught in the coaching program.

Is the price flexible?

You can pay one price up front or in three installments (see pricing above). We offer discounts to people who have active annual membership in Crappy Childhood Fairy, and to those who have already completed the 8-week Coaching Intensive.
